Gibraltar is a small town in Michigan located on the Detroit River just south of the larger city of Trenton. It is located in Wayne County and has a population of approximately 5,000 residents. The city draws its name from the British territory of Gibraltar on the Iberian Peninsula. The total area of the town is 4.41 square miles.

Due to its fortunate location on the Detroit River, Gibraltar has come to be known as a pleasant little town reminiscent of simpler days. The Gibraltar School District serves the town, as well as all of Rockwood, portions of Woodhaven, and portions of Brownstown Township. Notable 1960s – 70s hockey player Karen Koch was originally from Gibraltar.
